History & Origin:

Rose Quartz is a rose-pink variety of the Silicate mineral Quartz. Found in hydrothermal veins & pegmatites, it is abundantly sourced around the world from places such as Brazil, South Africa, India, Madagascar, Namibia, Mozambique, Sri Lanka & USA (specifically South Dakota). This famous gem gets its stunning blush hue from microscopic fibrous inclusions of a pink borosilicate mineral, closely related to Dumortierite. Some specimens can even contain a dense network of tiny inclusions that can result in an asterism effect - a beautiful six-ray star that shines across the stone's surface (often called Star Rose Quartz). A stone of love & healing, Rose Quartz has been used as an ornamental material as far back as 7,000 BCE. Ancient cultures believed that this crystal opened the heart to romance, blessed women with a beautiful complexion, & prevented ageing & wrinkles. The highest quality Rose Quartz stones often showcase a transparent yet vibrant pink colour.

Metaphysical Properties:

This well-loved gem is known for its calming & beautiful, loving energy. Rose Quartz holds a gentle yet powerful vibration that enhances love within relationships, friendships, & within oneself. It shines a light on your best qualities, allowing you to see how wonderful you are. This stone both heals & opens the Heart Chakra, allowing you to mend emotional wounds from the past while also opening yourself up to new love. It encourages you to forgive & move on, filled with compassion & happiness. It grows your self-confidence, self-esteem & self-love.

How to use:

Carry one with you to attract love. Hold one in your hand for a few minutes when you feel angry, stressed or upset. Rose Quartz is the perfect companion to keep near when reciting affirmations or indulging in a relaxing, self-care routine.

Lavender / Blue Rose Quartz

Lavender Rose Quartz is a type of Rose Quartz that likely contains high levels of manganese or titanium, which creates its beautiful lilac hue. Additionally, another recent find from Madagscar known as 'Blue' Rose Quartz displays a unique greyish-blue to pink hue. This colour is caused by a combination of blue Dumortierite & pink Dumortierite nanofibers. Both these varieties share close similarities to the spiritual properties of Rose Quartz, with the added benefit of their connection to the Crown chakra, inspiring Universal love & supporting the Divine Feminine within.
