History & Origin:
Magnesite is a naturally occurring magnesium carbonate mineral, most commonly found in white, cream & pale grey tones, often marked with distinctive grey, brown or dark veining. Oftentimes, it is dyed aqua blue & sold as Turquoise!
Metaphysical Properties:
In crystal traditions, Magnesite is associated with self-love, compassion, inner stillness & conscious awareness. It is traditionally considered a stone of unconditional self-acceptance, encouraging us to quiet our inner critic & meet ourselves with patience rather than judgement. It is believed to help create a space between our thoughts, emotions & reactions, allowing us to observe ourselves more objectively & respond from a place of greater compassion. This makes it especially associated with forgiveness, acceptance & releasing resentment. This gem can bring a deep sense of inner peace, helping to create stillness when the mind or emotions feel unsettled. Its calming energy is believed to support greater tolerance to stress, helping us remain patient & centred when faced with pressure. Magnesite is also commonly used in meditation & creative visualisation, helping the mind become quiet enough to explore imagery, intentions & inner wisdom.
How to use:
Hold Magnesite during meditation to quiet the mind & connect more deeply with your inner world. Use it while journalling to explore where you may be judging yourself too harshly or holding onto resentment. Keep it close during moments of emotional reaction as a reminder to pause, observe & respond with compassion.
