History & Origin:

Chrysocolla is a secondary copper silicate mineral that can often be found intermingled with Malachite, Azurite, Cuprite & Turquoise. Its stunning blue-green pattern is reminiscent of the Earth from above or a calm ocean landscape. The term "Chrysocolla" was initially coined by Theophrastus in 315 B.C. The name originates from the Greek words chrysos, meaning "gold," & kolla, meaning "glue." This name was chosen to symbolise the material's historical usage as a soldering agent for gold.
